Bread

Have you wanted to try to make you own bread, but the tasks seem a little too overwhelming?

As a first-time bread maker, this was a super easy Recipe, and the bread came out perfect. This is an excellent recipe to start with

So, you want to make your first loaf of bread? Well, first things first, make sure you have all the ingredients. I suggest Pre- Measuring out your ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups Warm water
  • 1/2 Cups white sugar
  • 1 1/2 TBSP Active Dry yeast
  • 1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil
  • 5-6 cups of Flour- I used bread flour. But you can use All-Purpose Flour too.

Prep Time: 20 minutes, Cook time 40 minutes, Rise time 1hr 30 mins, Cook time 30-40 minutes

Next, mix the warm water and 2 TBSP of white sugar in a large bowl until the sugar dissolves. Then add active dry yeast. Allow to proof. Let it sit for a few minutes until it gets all foamy and bubbly. This is the yeast doing its thing—about five Minutes.

Then add in the remaining sugar, salt, and oil. Begin to mix using a rubber scraper or the dough hook on your stand mixer. Now add the flour one cup at a time. You are reserving the last cup of Flour to see if you need it. The dough should pull away and clean the bowl. If it’s sticking on the bottom, add more Flour a little at a time.

Now you want to stretch for a minute and get those arms ready! Knead the dough for 7 minutes or until your arms feel like they’re going to fall off. No, Really, you have to knead for the entire 7 minutes. You got this! Then, place the dough in a greased bowl, and turn the dough to coat. Cover it with a  Damp towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour.

Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down (yes, really). Knead the dough for 1 minute and divide the dough in half. Shape it into loaves and place it into two greased 9 X 5-inch loaf pans. Allow to Rise for 30 minutes until the dough has risen 1 inch above the pans.

Bake at 350 F for 30-40 minutes. Cool, Brush with butter, and enjoy!

Makes two standard loaves of bread.

And there you have it, your first loaf of bread.

Wasn’t that just the most thrilling experience of your life? I enjoyed the whole process, and my family LOVED it, making it worth my arms wanting to fall off.
Thank you, Jessica & Nellie, for the Recipe.
